Tento kábel InLine® DisplayPort 1.2 spĺňa štandardy propagované združením Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). Špecifikácia, publikovaná v roku 2006, bola v priebehu rokov optimalizovaná a rozšírená. DisplayPort teraz podporuje protokoly Multi Stream Transport (MST), 3D, xvYCC, scRGB, farebné profily Adobe RGB 1998, HDCP 1.3 a DPCP (DisplayPort Content Protection). Rozšírením prenosovej rýchlosti AUX kanálov na 720 Mbps zvyšuje rozhranie DisplayPort šírku pásma. Aktuálna verzia 1.3 (od roku 2015) zvyšuje maximálnu prenosovú rýchlosť na 810 MB/s pre každý zo štyroch kanálov, čo je spolu 3,24 GB/s. To zodpovedá teoretickému maximálnemu rozlíšeniu 5K (5120 × 2880) pri 60 fps a 8-bitovej farebnej hĺbke. Podvzorkovanie chrominancie 4:2:0 umožňuje kompresiu a podporuje displeje UHD 2. Ideálne pre domáce kino, prezentácie, školenia, videokonferencie a inštalácie digitálneho značenia.
